Consul General of Italy in Osaka Marco Prencipe participated in the “International Women’s day With Men” organized in Kobe by the Kansai Global Society. In his speech, the Consul General highlighted the fundamental role of women in human history, who have seen their rights recognized only in more recent times, as well as reiterated Italy’s great commitment to promoting gender equality and the emancipation and women’s rights around the world to prevent any form of gender-based violence. “This commitment constitutes a top priority within the agenda of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, carried out through diplomatic negotiations and within the framework of cooperative development initiatives, aimed at achieving one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals that States have committed to achieve by 2030, as established by the United Nations.” Commented Consul General Prencipe.
Consul General Prencipe closed his speech by recalling the words of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella: “For a long time, women, all over the world, have been protagonists of important social and cultural progress. On numerous occasions and in different fields they have been drivers of change. I would also like to emphasize how women contribute, to a particular extent, to grasping the universal and concrete value of dialogue, solidarity, and peace. To support and respect the status of women, to listen to women is, in fact, to make our society better for all and for all.”
